Woods Sponsors
Your support ensures that we can provide ongoing services for the homeless animals such as good nutrition, a clean and safe shelter, and vital contact with caring humans.
You may want to consider a charitable gift to Woods Humane Society, which can be named in honor of your family, a pet, a loved one, or in memory. By making a charitable contribution before year-end, you can also reduce your income tax liability. Your accountant or tax advisor can explain the particulars for your individual circumstances but here are some general ideas.

Gifts of Cash are deductible up to 50% of your adjusted gross income for federal income tax purposes. The easiest way to make a donation and receive a charitable deduction is to write a check to Woods Humane Society.
By Donating Stock you own to Woods before the end of the
year, you can receive tremendous tax benefits. You will
receive a tax deduction for the current market value of
the stock on the date of your gift, and avoid paying and
gain if the stock has appreciated since you acquired it.
As an example, if you purchased stock for $2,500 and it
is now valued at $10,000 you would not be required to
pay capital gains on the appreciated value.
Contributions of Real Estate can benefit our organization
tremendously while offering you the tax benefit of avoiding
capital gains tax on the appreciation in the value of the
property.
Life Insurance can be donated by naming Woods Humane Society
as both the owner and beneficiary and provide you with a
charitable donation in the amount of the cash value of the
policy.
A Bequest in your will or trust arrangements will benefit
Woods Humane Society while saving you estate taxes at the same time.
Donating your old Car, RV, Boat or Motorcycle though Cars 4 Causes. They don't even need to run and in most cases can be picked
up from any location.
Volunteer your time at Woods Humane Society. Our shelter could
not perform the necessary day to day operations without the
compassion of wonderful volunteers. We are always looking to
recruit and train new volunteers. There are many different ways
that you can assist the shelter. Please contact Steve
Kragenbrink at (805) 543-9316 or skragenbrink@woodshumane.org for more information regarding our volunteer program.
