Woods Adoption Fees are Waived for All Senior Pets through November 2021

In honor of National Adopt a Senior Pet Month in November 2021, Woods Humane Society is waiving adoption fees for all senior pets (pets over seven years of age) this month. The adoption promotion, which will run through Tuesday, November 30, 2021, aims to help our “more mature” pets find comfortable, loving homes—for the holidays, and on into their golden years.

Help us Help More Pets!

This is the most recent of a series of adoption promotions we've offered, in part to help increase adoptions and make room for animals from nearby over-crowded shelters that are experiencing high numbers of stray and surrendered animals.

Seniors Hold a Special Place in our Hearts

At the beginning of the month, Woods had more than a dozen older dogs and cats available for adoption, and the length of stay for these senior pets is typically longer than that of younger animals.

Senior pets come with a lot of great benefits for new pet owners. They have a lot of love and gratitude to show their new families, and often they are already house-trained. They know their way around living with people and can make a smoother transition into a home than a younger pet who may require more training.

To view all of the currently available senior pets at Woods, visit www.WoodsHumane.org/adopt. To meet a pet, complete an adoption application before visiting the shelter locations in San Luis Obispo (875 Oklahoma Ave., San Luis Obispo, CA 93405) and North County (2300 Ramona Road, Atascadero, CA 93422) during open hours, Tuesday through Sunday from 12 - 4 p.m.
