Adoption Program

All interested adopters must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older to adopt

  • Must have a legal photo ID available at the time of adoption (Driver’s License, State or Military Id, Passport)

  • Must have a physical address as primary residence

  • Must complete an online Adoption Application

  • All children in the home under 18 years of age must meet adult dogs before adoption

  • All dogs in the primary residency must meet Woods adult dogs before adoption

  • Interested in adopting? Please visit our available animals pages below and complete an online cat adoption application or online dog adoption application. After you have completed the application, please visit us during our adoption hours. Adoptions are processed every day, first come first served between 12pm - 4pm and we close at 5pm. Admittance to the adoption lobby may be limited to accommodate the need for social distancing.
  • Our Customer Service Representatives will review the pet's information and the adoption application with all potential adopters prior to meeting the animals.
  • Dog adopters may take a "virtual walk through" of our kennels via our website listing or use of the Kiosks available in our lobby. Dog meetings take place outdoors, with an Adoption Counselor bringing the dog out to meet you. Time is spent reviewing the dog’s profile, including behavioral and medical information and determining if it is the right fit for the pet and the family.
  • Cat adopters will be asked to check in at the front desk when you arrive. You may be asked to wait if the Cattery is at occupancy capacity based on COVID guidelines.

Find Your New Best Friend at Woods!

We hope you see some homeless pets that you simply must meet in person! Check back often, as our pages are updated in real time through a direct link with our shelter database. Keep in mind that you may see an animal listed that is already in the adoption process, so please be open-hearted to falling in love with another pet that needs a home, if the animal you have chosen is no longer available at the time of your visit.
