Bookworms, assemble! Woods is welcoming animal lovers age 7-17 to join us in reading to our furry feline friends. Shelter life can be stressful, and reading is proven to relax and comfort companion animals. Book Buddies will be held at our Atascadero location on Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30 and at our San Luis Obispo location on Thursdays from 3:30-4:30. A suggested donation of $5 allows us to continue growing our youth programs and changing the lives of dogs and cats in our community. Calling all crafty, caring, pet-loving kids! Woods is excited to offer Care Crew at both our San Luis Obispo and Atascadero locations. Crew members will have the opportunity to join us in filling kongs for our canines to enjoy in their kennels, crafting homemade pet toys, and reading to our feline friends. We will also focus on learning about animal body language, responsible pet ownership, and the wide range of animal-focused careers.
