Our November 2025 Calendar Pet Chungus is here! Read below to see what his owners had to say about her.
“A three-year-old Taurus weighing in at 95 pounds, Chungus (née Lulu and nicknamed Big Julie) went from 40 acres of forest and pasture in rural Vermont, with a pond, bears, and no siblings, to having six—including cats—in a tiny house in, aptly, Los Osos. Loved dearly by her aging Papa Joe and Mama Lynne through their twilights, she was bequeathed to us, and, with her new sister Rita (a scrappy Sagittarius Siberian Husky from the streets of Santa Maria), traveled the 3,109.6 miles across the country, visiting 18 dog parks along the way. Chungus enjoys putting things in her mouth, playing keep-away and tug-of-war, paddleboarding, swimming, barking, and making YouTube videos with Rita. She can carry five tennis balls in her mouth – one away from the world record. Although not a stellar student, she loves school and her teacher. She is thrilled to be living on the Central Coast, making new friends and collecting new nicknames. “A well-loved dog has many names.” - Goat Yoga
