Our April 2025 Calendar Pet, and the winner of our spirited staff contest, is Ginger!
Her owner, Adoption Specialist Elizabeth Jansson, says, "Ginger, my sweet girl, came to Woods from Wasco. She sat so small in her kennel, with one of the cutest puppy dog eyes and underbites I have ever seen. At 28 years old, I had never had a dog before, especially one of my very own! I grew up leaning more toward being a cat person, but knew I always wanted a dog. Even though she isn’t quite the size of dog I had envisioned for myself initially, I fell in love instantly with Ginger, and she became attached just as quickly.
My sweet Ginger has brought so much joy into my life during a time of hardships and mental anguish. This includes her silly little antics of grabbing a single sock and parading it around the house; getting the zoomies every day and giving me a kiss attack (where she always goes for the ears!); barking at dogs five-times her size; and cuddles every day, all day, all the time! Looking at her now, it is hard to imagine my life without her in it. She has forever changed the course of my life and every day I am so grateful to be her Mom."
