Our February 2024 Pets of the Year Calendar winner is Sam. His owner shares:
“My husband, Ilan, grew up in a New York walk-up apartment with no space or time for a dog of his own. But at the age of 63, he got his first dog, Sam. Through Sam, Ilan has been given the greatest gift, the true unconditional love of a dog, a bond only shared by them. You can see from his photo why we call Sam a Stalker Doodle: he lurks around corners watching us. Is he waiting for a sudden snack to appear? Keeping watch on his family? Either way he is always there. Sam is intuitive, particularly when sadness or stress is in the air, especially with children. He has a way of putting his head into our chest, or wrapping his head around our shoulders as if to give us a hug, and when children are upset or worried, he will crawl into their lap to reassure them. Sam is nine years old now and the amount of unconditional love and devotion he has brought to us is immeasurable."
The 2024 Pets of the Year Calendar is available for sale at Woods SLO and North County, while supplies last. All proceeds benefit the animals at Woods Humane Society, thanks to the generous sponsorship of PetMed Urgent Care.
