Our May winner for the Pets of the Year Calendar Contest, sponsored by PetMed Urgent Care, was a special one. Read the story about Olly the Cat and the local child who has become his best friend and an advocate for homeless animals!
“Olly is the best cat ever. Our story started two years ago, when I was eight years old, and I went to Woods to find a kitten. When I first saw him I knew he would be the purr-fect little kitty for me…When he turned one we started letting him venture up the hill in our backyard. At first he was a little scared with the new surroundings but after a bit, he started to become more comfortable but would still check in every once in a while and get some treats. He will take walks with us up the hill, and he does one of the coolest things a cat can do, he brings us gifts like gophers and lizards. I know for a scientific fact that they do this because they love and trust us. Olly was an inspiration to start a lemonade stand to raise money for the kitties at Woods Humane Society. It felt good donating money to the amazing people who give cats a welcoming home. Olly is such a great kitty who brings so much fun and happiness to the world.”
