Woods Humane Society is dedicated to keeping pets in homes and with their owners. Unfortunately, a large number of animals who enter shelters are brought in because their owners are unable to find pet-friendly housing. If you are seeking rental housing and have pets, you might consider HomeShareSLO's pet resources.
HomeShareSLO is a local non-profit that facilitates HomeShare matches between those with an extra room and those looking for affordable (and often times pet-friendly) housing. Although this program might not work for every situation, we feel that it has the ability to curb the number of animals entering our local shelters because of the low inventory of pet-friendly rentals in San Luis Obispo county.
You can visit HomeShareSLO's website for more information about their program and how to sign up as a provider or as someone seeking pet-friendly affordable housing.
