Adoption Fees for Dogs, Cats, Puppies and Kittens Reduced from October 18-27, 2024
Woods Humane Society as well as The County of SLO Animal Services Division (ASD) announce ten days of half-off pet adoption fees, from Friday, October 18 through Sunday, October 27, 2024. The joint adoption promotion comes as an early kick-off to Woods’ annual Wiggle Waggle Fall Festival, held at Woods Humane Society San Luis Obispo on October 26, from 12-3 p.m.
“Every year, we invite local pet owners and their leashed dogs to come together to celebrate the human-animal bond at a free community event and pet party that honors all of the ways pets enrich our lives,” says Woods Humane Society CEO Emily L’Heureux. “This year, in addition to the doggie costume contests, stuffed animal pull, pet fair vendors, and Santa Paws photos, we are so thrilled to offer half-off adoption fees for ten days to help more pets experience the joy of finding a loving home.”
ASD, located next door to Woods Humane Society SLO, will offer the same adoption promotion to help its animals find families in time for the fall festival, in which it will also participate with an informational booth.
L’Heureux adds, “We are grateful to our sponsors who have such a passion for animals and this community. They are making it possible for us to hold this free event and to offer reduced adoption fees so that as many pet families as possible can celebrate with us.”

About Animal Services
The Animal Services Division is responsible for providing animal care and control services throughout the County of San Luis Obispo and within each of the seven incorporated communities. Animal Services’ staff serves the community by helping to identify solutions to animal related problems, enforcing local ordinances and state laws relating to animals, providing humane education programs, and performing rabies control and surveillance. The Division also operates the only open-intake animal shelter in the county.
